Research has shown that very few Albertans recognize that injuries are a major threat in the Province. Prior to a public information campaign 34% of Albertans surveyed reported injury as the leading cause of death under 45 years of age. After the campaign, the 40% of Albertans recognized injuries as a leading cause of death for those under 45 years of age. The survey will be repeated after this phase of the preventable injuries campaign - "Take Care, Injuries are killing us."
